Pioneering Common Core and Universal Design for Learning Implementation
Posted on April 11, 2013
The Common Core Learning Standards (CCLS) seek to provide a well-defined and coherent structure to prepare students for college and/or a career. CCLS prescribes what is essential for students to learn, however it does not address how teachers should teach. Additionally, in order to support all students including students with disabilities to successfully engage with the CCLS, educators can apply the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) framework.
Are you struggling with CCLS implementation in your school or district? Are you wondering about how to implement the UDL framework? You’re not alone. Our panelists will share their goals, struggles, challenges and achievements with the Common Core Learning Standards while exploring the theory of UDL and how the framework can support all students.
