The Great Reset: Reboot Education – How Can We?

The years 2020/21 have been catalysts for change in education. It is time for the greatest reset of all time. Our framework for education has been rebooted. We will never go back to the way things were. We can move forward now with a new landscape, a new framework. This workshop will be an intense, high-spirited conversation about what it is going to take to move forward including with communication, social and emotional learning, and a new framework! During the hands-on workshop we will lay the foundation, layer by layer, putting the pieces together to help rebuild the structure of education including cybersecurity, trust, single sign-on, all-in-one access to resources from any device-from anywhere, data analytics, continuous improvement, and strategic partnerships. Starting from findings collected from ISTE 2021, participants will divide into groups to construct and continuously improvement the framework which will then be used in future EdTech design initiatives. All workshops are BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). Participants are responsible for bringing a wifi enabled device with all workshop software/apps downloaded before attending.

Then, Now, and Tomorrow: The New Norm for EdTech Leaders

A lot has happened in K-12 over the past 2 years!  More districts have had to manage 1:1 checkouts and maintenance, provide remote learning opportunities, provide services both F2F and virtually, adjust practices, and make decisions often through a new or modified lens. From using data to make sound decisions to budgeting for the unknown and unexpected we can learn from each other to embrace the future!  Join veteran EdTech leader Shery Abshire, experienced CTO Eileen Belastock, and early career CTO Suzan Brandt in an interactive panel discussion facilitated by CoSN Early Career K-12 CTO Academy leader, Donna Williamson. No challenge or opportunity is left untouched.  Hear tried and true strategies as well as new strategies to navigate the new norm in EdTech.  Some old, some new, and a whole lot of experience, innovation, and creativity included in this interactive discussion!

Take aways:

  1. Participants will discuss innovative strategies that are flexible, sustainable, and cost effective – all geared towards navigating the challenges and opportunities facing EdTech Leaders. You will learn how to create or modify your strategies for meeting the technology needs in your district.
  2. Participants will review the impact of national data to provide insight into learning continuity and successful student and staff experiences.
