Take Control of Timing with OneSync's New Delayed Events

Delayed Events is here. Instead of every OneSync action firing the moment a trigger is met, you can now build in a pause, add a notification, and control exactly when things happen.

This feature is currently available in Preview. It's not yet part of our stable release, a stable version is coming next year. To try it, head to your OneSync Settings and toggle Preview Features.

You Asked. We Built It.

This has been one of our most requested capabilities: a way to pause or schedule OneSync actions and events instead of everything firing instantly. Now you can.

How It Works

Delayed Events follows a simple pattern: trigger, delay, optional notification, then action.

Something happens (a trigger). You decide how long to wait (a delay, from days to months, or a specific date). Along the way, you can send users a heads-up (a notification). Then, once the delay passes, OneSync carries out the action.

That structure unlocks a lot of flexibility for workflows that used to be all-or-nothing.

Three Ways to Put Delayed Events to Work

Keep graduating seniors enabled a little longer.

Instead of disabling a graduate's account the moment your data rolls up, set a delay, say, until August 30, so students have time to pull files from Drive or wrap up emails related to college admissions before their account shuts off.

Give users a heads-up before a username changes.

When someone's name changes (say, after getting married), delay the username update for a set window, like seven days, and send staged notifications along the way. Instead of a surprise lockout, users get a warning before the change and another reminder as it approaches.

Let new hires set up MFA before enforcing it.

Give new staff time to configure MFA before it's enforced. Send a setup reminder, then automatically move them to the MFA-enabled group once the delay passes.
