ClassLink Blog | Partner Access Windows Go Live This Month

Troubleshooting is easier when a vendor partner can see what a user sees. But that access shouldn’t stay open any longer than necessary.

Beginning September 17, ClassLink administrators may start receiving Partner Access Window (PAW) requests in LaunchPad. PAWs let your organization grant vendor partners temporary full visibility into the rostered data available to them when needed for testing, troubleshooting, or support.

If you’ve used Controlled Access Windows for ClassLink support, the process will feel familiar. Now, that same approach extends to vendor partners receiving roster data from your organization.

How Partner Access Windows Work

By default, vendor partners see smart-masked roster data. When full data visibility is needed, they can request a temporary Partner Access Window.

When a request arrives, ClassLink Admins will receive a LaunchPad notification to review the details. From there, you can approve or deny the request.

While the window is active, the vendor partner can view rostered data in their ClassLink Partner Portal. They can also use the launch preview feature to open their own application as a specific user to test the connection firsthand.

Note: Partner Access Windows are temporary by design. You maintain full control over when access begins, how long it lasts, and when it ends.

Setting a PAW to inactive immediately removes the vendor's access, even if the original expiration date has not yet been reached.
