Stay up to date with the latest ClassLink enhancements. From new ways to delegate access and protect student data to a redesigned CMC experience, these updates help your district work more efficiently without adding complexity.

Use the following links to jump to the updates that matter most to you:

1. OneSync Update: Privileged Access Management (PAM)

Privileged Access Management (PAM) is a way to grant elevated access only when it's actually needed. Instead of giving permanent high-level permissions “just in case,” PAM helps you control who gets extra access, when they get it, and how long it lasts. Currently available in OneSync Preview.

How PAM helps

PAM helps your school system limit access to sensitive tools, settings, and data while ensuring staff can do their jobs. It's designed for those moments when someone needs elevated access to complete a task, troubleshoot an issue, or handle a time-sensitive situation.

2. DataGuard Update: TrueView Chrome Browser extension

With the ClassLink TrueView extension, authorized staff, such as instructors, can securely view the raw data protected by ClassLink DataGuard.

How TrueView helps

ClassLink DataGuard masks roster data before it's shared with third-party vendors. The ClassLink TrueView Chrome extension allows authorized staff to view the data in its original form to help keep instructional time on track. Districts strengthen student data privacy while teachers continue working with the information they need every day.

3. CMC & LaunchPad Updates

Redesigned CMC experience

Early access to the new CMC Dashboard is here. Get faster access to key admin tools, track setup progress, and review live activity from one centralized view. Explore the new experience now, with the option to switch back to the legacy CMC at any time. Explore our New CMC dashboard article to get started.

New security role: Building-level restriction

New building-level restrictions make it easier to assign restricted admin access by school. Grant permissions such as Impersonation, Password Reset, or Group Assignments to building leaders, and ClassLink automatically limits those powers to their assigned school(s). All actions are captured in audit logs, giving district teams visibility without the need for manual user lists or ongoing role maintenance. Check out the Security Roles article to try it out.

Account claiming expands to Entra ID & Google

Account Claiming is now available for Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra, giving more districts a secure, self-service way for students and staff to activate accounts, create passwords, and configure MFA. With support for Active Directory, Google Workspace, and Microsoft Entra, Account Claiming helps reduce onboarding delays and routine IT setup. Follow the steps to set up account claiming for your school system.

That’s it for now. We’ll be back soon with more product updates from ClassLink.
