New Features that Make Provisioning Faster, Safer and Less Stressful

If you manage user accounts across systems like Active Directory, Google, or Entra ID, you know how quickly things can go sideways, one bad import or mismatched field can mean hours of cleanup.

These latest OneSync updates are designed to reduce risk, save time, and give you more control, without adding complexity.

Let’s break down what's new and why it matters to you.

New in Sources

Prevent Mistakes Before They Happen with Smart Thresholds

Smart Thresholds adds an extra layer of protection against large, unintended changes. When an import attempts to modify 50% or more of users in a category (such as students or staff), you're prompted to confirm the changes before proceeding.

Find this feature under the Sources menu and use it to help protect your environment from unintended mass updates.

Account Sponsorship Now Available In Stable Release

Use the Account Sponsorship app as a source in OneSync to manage temporary users like substitutes and contractors.

This allows you to create and manage short-term user accounts so temporary staff can access the systems they need while working with your district.

New In Destinations

Faster, More Accurate CSV & OneRoster Setup

Setting up a CSV destination just got easier. Instead of manually typing out every column header, you can now upload a CSV template and let OneSync build the headers for you.

This is helpful for formats like OneRoster®, where small mistakes can cause big headaches later.

New In Settings/Logs

Centralized SFTP/FTPS Management

Configure all your SFTP and FTPS connections in one place under General Settings. Set it up once   and reuse it across destinations, no more duplicate configurations.

Your existing connections were automatically migrated, so everything continues working as expected, just in a cleaner, easier-to-manage setup.

New in Users

Smarter Correlation (Fewer Mismatches, Easier Troubleshooting)

Correlation just got more powerful, and much easier to troubleshoot! Auto-correlation now supports Multi-Value Fields, like Google Aliases or AD ProxyAddresses. That means instead of relying on just one value to match users, OneSync can check multiple possible identifiers.

That helps you match the right accounts, especially in environments where users may have multiple emails.

Correlation logs are also clearer. If something goes wrong, OneSync now points out exactly which users are causing the issue, so you’re not digging through logs trying to guess what failed.

New in General Settings

More Flexible Formulas and Easier Text Cleanup

You now have more control when working with data in OneSync:

  • GRADE_TO_YOG and YOG_TO_GRADE support a second parameter, making them more flexible for non-traditional grade structures.
  • New functions TRIM_BEFORE_FIRST and TRIM_AFTER_LAST make it easier to clean up strings by removing unwanted text before or after specific characters.

These updates make it easier to handle unique environments and clean messy data before it reaches your destination.
