Researchers found over 90 percent of K-12 administrators say effective technology use helps achieve the core mission of education at their schools.

Classrooms that incorporate technology help students become more engaged with their studies, according to a Trends in Digital Learning report released at this year’s 2015 ISTE Conference in Philadelphia, PA.

Researchers found over 90 percent of K-12 administrators say effective technology use helps achieve the core mission of education at their schools and better prepares students. Even parents agreed, with more than 78 percent saying daily technology use in class is the best way to prepare their children with the necessary skills for college and careers.

The report also found rapid growth in digital technology use at schools. The use of digital content in the classroom increased by 45 percent, mobile learning through tablets or other devices increased by 41 percent, and the use of online classes for students increased by 81 percent. And to top it all off, successful online professional development by teachers increased by 119 percent since the 2013 report.
