CLASSLINK – NOW ACCEPTING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
CLIFTON, NJ, April 7, 2009 -- ClassLink — the future of instructional technology, is pleased to announce the opening of this year’s ClassLink College Scholarship Program. The program is open to high school seniors at participating ClassLink schools who are interested in furthering their education at a two or four-year college.
Graduating Seniors are eligible to earn a $500 Scholarship in the 6th Annual National Contest.
Award Information:
This scholarship is open to applicants attending a two or four-year college in fall of 2009. Selection is based upon a type-written essay and school records, including extra-curricular activities and recommendations.

Essay Topic:
Essay Topic: What steps should be taken to improve the quality of education in our public schools? Discuss.
Consider:
The recent economic stimulus package with funds dedicated towards education.
The pressure to do well on standardized tests.
The policies and requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.
Directions for Writing:
Write an essay in which you persuade the reader of your opinion on improving the quality of education in our public schools.
(Must be typed)
Defend your position with specific reasons supported by several detailed examples.
Essays should be a minimum of five complete paragraphs.
Additional Requirements:
Current Resume
Must be typed and include past employment history, awards and certificates.
Letter of Recommendation
This should be from an instructor, employer, etc.
Submission Process:
Individual ClassLink high schools may submit a maximum of 5 scholarship applications.
Applications are to be submitted to the school guidance department.
Guidance Counselors will then submit approved applications to ClassLink Scholarship/Education Department
