WEEHAWKEN, NJ, July 16, 2007 -- ClassLink, Inc., a leading technology provider for kindergarten through grade 12 classrooms, today unveiled a free version of ClassSync™, a software tool that synchronizes a school’s Active Directory (AD) user list to its Student Information System (SIS).
Released just in time for the usually cumbersome and time-consuming Back to School AD update, ClassSync quickly compares, matches, and updates the AD and SIS databases, eliminating maintenance of two separate lists. The software works with all SIS, using rule-based logic that users can customize.
“ClassLink has a strong commitment to the K-12 community as well as to continued software innovation," said Berj Akian, CEO of ClassLink. “We decided to make ClassSync more widely available since we believe it truly revolutionizes user-list management, making life much easier for the IT team.”
Both large and small school districts across the U.S. have had successful implementations of ClassSync. “ClassSync was easy to use from the start and saved us hours of time. It makes adds and deletes throughout the year effortless and error-free,” said Jeff Janover, Director of Technology at Wall Township Public Schools in Wall, NJ.
Unlike existing mass import tools in the marketplace, ClassLink’s ClassSync does not just create new accounts year after year. It synchronizes the full Active Directory schema to the Student Information System data. Therefore, ClassSync can identify bad log-in accounts, correct missing information in Active Directory, and fix the Organization Unit (OU) paths from an easy to use interface. ClassSync is compatible with Windows 2000 Active Directory and above and can be used an unlimited number of times during the school year, as needed, to keep the Active Directory user list updated.
ClassLink has a proven record of delivering high quality technology solutions designed to meet the unique needs of the K-12 instructional setting. In addition to the free ClassSync software, the company provides flexible support programs covering all AD topics, as well as AD training programs for IT administrators and staff.
ClassSync ™ is available from ClassLink at no cost. It can be downloaded from the ClassLink website at http://www.classlink.com/products/classsync/.
