”ClassLink has reinvented the experience of instructional technology with LaunchPad 2011. It provides our District an equitable means to manage and deliver cloud-based instructional tools for teachers and students,” said Greg Partch, Director of Technology with Hudson Falls Central School District, NY, a long-time ClassLink client. “Implementing a Virtual Academic Desktop allows our District to support student-owned computers at home, as well as provide the District a lot of flexibility in terms of the computing devices we have deployed here at our schools.”

LaunchPad leverages the scalability and flexibility of cloud-based services and can dramatically lessen the workload of a district’s IT staff, a group already stretched by budget constraints, eliminating the need for software maintenance.

CLIFTON, NJ, January 5, 2011 — Aztec Public Schools in New Mexico has selected ClassLink LaunchPad™ to enhance their technology learning environment for students and teachers. Aztec’s technology mission states that they will provide innovative solutions in support of learning and teaching. Aztec is currently using LaunchPad with 400 thin client computers to support this mission at Koogler Middle School with plans to expand district wide in the coming years.

Nathan Holmes is the Technology Director at Aztec. He noted that at his previous job, which had a very similar IT environment, he had a staff of 36 compared to his current staff of four. “We need to make it easy for teachers to use technology and that is where LaunchPad excels.”

“We obviously have a very limited technology budget. The addition of ClassLink LaunchPad, which supports less expensive thin client technology, allows us to greatly expand our technology in the classrooms while at the same time reducing the amount of staff time needed for maintenance. But even more importantly, LaunchPad paves the way for many new student-centered learning opportunities in the classrooms,” Holmes added.

“Seeing the change at Koogler Middle School as more and more students are absorbed in learning on computers is wonderful. LaunchPad makes it easy for teachers to differentiate instruction as needed and for students to use different software programs right in the classroom!” said Patti Shaffer, Middle School Teacher at Koogler Middle School in Aztec. “Not only is ClassLink perfect for the classroom, but students are able to access their school writing assignments and classroom projects from home using the same software available at school. How many students have Office 2010 at home? With ClassLink any student with access to a computer can work on school assignments from anywhere. How great is that!” With LaunchPad all software is located and maintained in one central location so individual classrooms have easy, trouble-free access to all district approved software.

ClassLink LaunchPad is the centralized point of access where teachers and students login to see a customized, dynamic desktop from which all applications can be easily accessed from any computing device in the school, community or home. LaunchPad eases the workload of a district’s IT staff since maintenance is done in one central location. LaunchPad also includes a number of embedded classroom management tools, calendaring, and more.

“Aztec’s mission could be ours,” said Berj Akian, CEO, ClassLink. “Our desire is to improve educational outcomes for our schools by providing for their technology needs more efficiently. ClassLink LaunchPad removes many of the barriers districts have when they try to incorporate more technology in the classroom. We are pleased that more and more districts are leveraging their technology investments with LaunchPad.”

ClassLink has a proven record of delivering high quality technology solutions designed to meet the unique needs of the K-12 instructional setting. Engineered for students and teachers, ClassLink’s award winning products are simple to use yet help raise student achievement by providing anytime anywhere learning access.
