Study findings include:
Gains were stronger among non-Hispanic whites than for minorities
Graduation rates have risen faster in high-poverty school systems and in urban vs. suburban communities
An astonishing 35 percentage points divide the top and bottom states
High concentrations of poor and minority students exhibit a much stronger negative influence on graduation rates than do district size, student-teacher ratios and urban location
