ClassLink and HP Partner
to Deliver the Future of Instructional Technology

WEEHAWKEN, NJ, June 13, 2008 — ClassLink, Inc. — the future of instructional technology delivering 24/7 access to learning tools – today announced a partnership agreement with Hewlett-Packard (HP).  ClassLink, recent winner of two prestigious CODiE awards for excellence and innovation in K-12 software programs, and HP, the global leader in thin client and virtualization products and services, are both firmly committed to the utilization of thin client and virtualization technology.

In a recent article in the New York Times, HP officials shared their vision that thin client technology, while not new, will grow in popularity because it addresses increased concerns about security and energy usage.  Today’s alliance between ClassLink and HP demonstrates the importance of this technology, especially following on the heels of HP’s more than doubling R&D investments in thin client technology and more than quadrupling thin client engineering headcount.

“Our interests are aligned,” says ClassLink CEO, Berj Akian.  “ClassLink provides a unique, award winning technology solution for delivering educational software 24/7 using application servers and virtualization. HP with its continuing dedication to thin clients, blade servers, virtualization, UMPC’s, etc. makes this partnership a great fit for the K12 education market. Together we can help students and teachers access their instructional software on a platform that’s affordable, reliable and available 24/7.”

According to Mike Provenzano, Technology Director for the Monmouth Regional High School District who is using this technology, “Thin client and virtualization is vital for managing our computers and makes for a more cost-effective computing model. Software virtualization provides greater reliability and application stability.”

ClassLink and HP will showcase a vision for the future of instructional technology at the 29th annual National Educational Computing Conference from June 29-July 2, 2008, in San Antonio, TX. This showcase will highlight how schools today are reducing their total cost of ownership while delivering an instructional desktop solution that measures learning results.
